About Me

My photo
Jennifer Frank, Ph.D.
My Ph.D. is in Clinical Psychology and my specialty is obesity issues. My interest in the topic stems from my own lifelong experiences of weight gain and loss. I have weighed as little as 128 and as much as 304. I am currently fat, although not nearly at my top weight. My research has led me to believe that permanent weight loss is likely connected to significant changes in one's sense of self. In my blog, my career and my life, I hope to help others and myself achieve the kind of changes that make successful weight minding possible. You can also find me on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Weight-Minding/351501854873745 CAVEAT: I am a white, middle-class, straight woman, writing from that perspective. I recognize that many of the things I write about do not apply to whole swathes of people. Please do not assume, or think I assume, that we all face the same things, or feel the same way about them. Men and women, straight, gay, bisexual, transgendered, of all ethnicities, including white, and all religions, are individuals. Each person, no matter who they are or what shapes them, experiences life and their body in a unique way.
